Recover From Stuttering – Refresh Your Fluency Motivation

Newsletter 59: January 2015

Happy New Year to you all! May the New Year bring fresh motivation to your speech fluency goals. Motivation is the all-time working tool to help you focus on your targets and bring that spark, leading you to new heights of stuttering therapy

To start off 2015, here are some motivational tips to help you stay focussed on your fluency technique:
  • Start Now
Whether you feel you have failed in the past or fear bad results, just make a new start and get the momentum going.

  • Follow Your Inner Positive Voice
Use this voice as a driving force to overcome your fears and believe in yourself. Keep reminding yourself that you can do it!

  • Visualise Your Success
Picture yourself using your fluency technique to your full potential in real-world speaking situations. Imagine the feeling that embraces you as you follow the process to achieve fluency. When slip-ups occur, don't give up. Keep practising and using your technique.

  • Spend Time With Someone Who Inspires You
Seek out someone who is using the fluency technique to potential. Skype or phone this person regularly. Perhaps you could join a local fluency group.

  • Decide on a 'First' and Do It
Find something new that you haven't experienced before, and experience it. Strengthen your fluency technique by using it in this new speaking situation.

Start 2015 with a fresh motivation to stay committed to the process of achieving fluency.

Ezy-Speech Affirmation of the Month

I am too big a gift to the world to waste my time on self-pity. I adopt the mindset to praise myself. I fully approve of who I am, even as I get better.

The Ezy-Speech Team wishes you and yours a very Happy New Year.
