Recover From Stuttering - Fluency Management Comes from Within

Newsletter 42: August 2013

The Queensland Speak Easy Association annual fluency camp ran from Friday evening, July 12, to Sunday afternoon, July 14 - three days of fluency practice, great food, fun and fellowship. Most people in attendance left the camp feeling fluent with a positive outlook for the future.

There is certainly a lot of strength in a group of like-minded people all striving for the same goal – to speak fluently. Some struggled at times while others were fluent the whole time. This goes to show that those who use Prolonged / Smooth Speech consistently are able to achieve fluency and stay fluent. The old saying is true, ‘There is strength in numbers.’ The belief of one is strengthened many times over when this belief is supported by many - a group of recovering stutterers armed with a wonderful technique and a belief that they can manage their fluency.

To be supported by others and to help others is empowering, but in terms of our own fluency management, it really is up to us as individuals to use our technique every time we speak.

"The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be." – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Are you ready to take action towards achieving fluency? Are you committed to the process of maintaining your fluency? Do you choose to be a fluent speaker?

It is time to open yourself to your speaking potential. Believe you deserve it and commit to achieving it. Your success comes from within you.
